Uniform confidence bands for hazard functions from censored prevalent cohort survival data

چکیده

Prevalent cohort studies are commonly conducted in many areas of research when incident deemed infeasible due to logistic or other constraints. While such cost effective, it is known that survival data collected on prevalent cases do not form a representative sample from the target population. When incidence (e.g. onset disease) arise stationary Poisson process, allows developing more efficient methodology. stationarity assumption holds applications, best our knowledge, problem establishing uniform confidence bands using arisen settings has been addressed current literature. We devise method for obtaining cumulative hazard and function built their nonparametric maximum likelihood estimators (NPMLEs). To attain this objective, we first present results strong consistency, weak convergence asymptotic efficiency NPMLE function. Given intractable forms limiting processes case, idea numerically approximate functionals normalized NPMLEs. Our simulation reveal finite samples. Parametric Simultaneous Confidence Bands for Cumulative Distributions From Censored Data

This article describes existing methods and develops new methods for constructing simultaneous confidence bands for a cumulative distribution function. Our results are built on extensions of previous work by Cheng and Iles for two-sided and one-sided bands, respectively. Cheng and Iles used Wald statistics with (expected) Fisher information. We consider three alternatives—Wald statistics with o...

Simultaneous Parametric Confidence Bands for Cumulative Distributions from Censored Data

This paper describes existing methods and develops new methods for constructing simultaneous confidence bands for a cumulative distribution function (cdf). Our results are built on extensions of previous work by Cheng and Iles (1983, 1988). Cheng and Iles use Wald statistics with (expected) Fisher information and provide different approaches to find one-sided and two-sided simultaneous confiden...

Width-scaled confidence bands for survival functions

A popular simultaneous confidence band for survival functions is the equal precision band of Nair [1984. Confidence bands for survival functions with censored data: a comparative study. Technometrics 26, 265–275] This band is found by adjusting the level of Wald-type pointwise confidence intervals centered on the Kaplan–Meier estimator. The present paper develops a complementary method of adjus...

Uniform confidence bands for functions estimated nonparametrically with instrumental variables

This paper is concerned with developing uniform confidence bands for functions estimated nonparametrically with instrumental variables. We show that a sieve nonparametric instrumental variables estimator is pointwise asymptotically normally distributed. The asymptotic normality result holds in both mildly and severely ill-posed cases. We present an interpolation method to obtain a uniform confi...

Likelihood ratio confidence bands in nonparametric regression with censored data

Let (X,Y ) be a random vector, where Y denotes the variable of interest possibly subject to random right censoring, and X is a covariate. We construct confidence intervals and bands for the conditional survival and quantile function of Y given X using a nonparametric likelihood ratio approach. This approach was introduced by Thomas and Grunkemeier (1975), who estimated confidence intervals of s...
